This is Furkan Emir, writing to you from Konya / Turkey. I work as an academician at Konya Necmettin Erbakan University. I would like to tell you about the problem I have with my Honda Civic brand vehicle. I have bought my Honda Civic Eco vehicle brand new in 2021 and i love using my car. I trusted the Honda brand because I wanted to make sure that if there was a problem while using my car, it would be fixed by the brand. That's why I chose the Honda brand. Since I bought my vehicle, I have had it serviced at an authorized service every 10 thousand km.
I had the last 40.000 km maintenance done on 23.12.2022 at Adana Tekbaş Plaza authorized service and the antifreeze was changed in addition to the periodic maintenance at the service. On 16.01.2023, around 23:00, while traveling with my wife and daughter, the vehicle's temperature indicator warned. I immediately pulled the vehicle to the right to a safe place and called the assistant. When I opened the hood of the engine while waiting, I saw that the cover of the engine coolant expansion tank was not attached. I recorded the situation by shooting a video immediately. and I am attaching the video as an attachment to the e-mail. As you can see in the video I took, the cover was not installed in the service and was forgotten on the podium. I did not use the vehicle anymore and waited for the tow truck to arrive. My vehicle was towed to Konya Toros service, which is the closest service, with a tow truck.
In the inspection made at the service, they said that this was my fault and it was not accepted to be repaired under warranty. What could be wrong with me in this case? I took delivery of my vehicle from the service after maintenance and never opened the hood. After the car overheated, I opened the hood for the first time and saw that the water tank cap was not attached. It is very likely that closing the water tank cover was forgotten in the service after the antifreeze was changed. But the service does not accept this and says it is my fault that the water tank cover is not closed and they say that they can repair the vehicle for a fee. But this is not my fault and i have never opened the hood before. I also talked to Honda Turkey customer service, but I couldn't find a solution. They talked to the service technicians and they say the same thing the service told me. However, I do not accept this. I bought my car from Honda brand new. And I did not take it anywhere other than the authorized service. I have never opened the hood in any way except to put the wiper fluid, which is what a normal user does anyway. I was stranded on the road with my wife and daughter. Now I have suffered a lot because of this situation. Currently, my vehicle is waiting at Honda Konya Toros authorized service and I cannot drive my vehicle. I must drop most of me off at school every day and my child suffers because I can't do that. In addition, the authorized Honda authorized service does not accept its own fault and asks me to pay for the repair.
I want you to help me solve this problem. I am writing to you because I could not solve this problem with Honda Turkey officials. I have no fault in this. I'm having a problem with my car that I love very much. I trust the Honda brand and I believe in the Japanese understanding of quality. I also want to continue to trust the Honda brand. Please contact Honda Turkey officials to solve this problem and help me.
